About the Market

The primary goal of Freight Station Farmers Market is to provide a retail outlet for small, local farmers, producing fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, dairy products, and plants.  Our focus is on fresh, whole foods, with lesser amounts of value added products.  We aim to bring our friends and customers the best selection of top quality produce available within a 50-mile radius.  We love good, local food, and want you to enjoy it as much as we do.  So come and see what we have to offer; ask questions; share with us.  We want to welcome you to our FRESH and LOCAL COMMUNITY!

Founded in 1987, Freight Station Farmers Market brings the widest selection of fresh, local tree fruits, berries, vegetables, meats, and home produced value added products to the Winchester area.   In 1994, the market began to maintain winter hours, and is now open year round.   Our farmers continue to grow greens and other vegetables in the ground throughout the winter months, greatly expanding local, winter produce options.  In addition, frozen berries, picked fresh in the summer, hand pressed apple cider, and cold pressed fruit juices, made from our own fruits, offer desirable variety to the roots and leaves of winter.

Besides fruits, vegetables, berries and meats, our growers bring local, raw honey, homemade preserves and baked goods, cut flowers, plants and wild caught Alaskan fish.  Plants include ornamentals, vegetable transplants, herbs, exotics, and edible landscape varieties.  Wild caught Alaskan fish, including salmon, halibut, shellfish and other whitefish varieties, is available through a vendor’s family member, a commercial Alaskan fisherman.
